Biography
Elliot Minor originated in 2005 inside an attic flat in York, England, under the initial name the Academy. Alex Davies and Ed Minton, friends and fellow students, linked with drummer Dan Heatherton, keyboardist Ali Paul, and bassist Teddy Heatherton to develop earlier recordings and deliver their rock material to listeners. The group landed a contract with Repossession Records within months and cut its debut single, "Parallel Worlds," in Los Angeles during late 2006. Issued in spring 2007, "Parallel Worlds" registered modest chart success at number 31. Additional singles followed in the form of "Jessica," "The White One Is Evil," "Still Figuring Out," and a second pressing of "Parallel Worlds," alongside a nationwide tour. Late in 2007 the band confirmed that its self-titled debut album would arrive the next April.
