An Australian pop singer and songwriter distinguished by her rich, soulful voice and personal lyrical approach, Evie Irie launched her major-label career via the EP 5 Weeks in LA in 2019.

Raised just outside Sydney, Irie began appearing at local cafés and restaurants while still very young and began composing original material at age 12, often drawing inspiration from her older sister’s experiences for those initial songs. During her mid-teens, rather than joining an exchange program with her peers, she secured her parents’ permission to spend time in Los Angeles—later extending the trip to New York and Nashville—to participate in writing sessions and meet with labels. Those U.S. visits generated strong interest, reportedly triggering a bidding war in Los Angeles that concluded with her signing to Republic Records. At 16, she saw the label issue her debut EP, 5 Weeks in LA, in mid-2019. She subsequently supported Sigrid and Bastille on tour and resurfaced in early 2020 with the singles “Over Him” and “Worst Enemy,” followed by her second EP, The Optimist, that fall.
