Biography
Flawes formed as an English alt-pop trio whose style merges spare, glitch-infused electronics with expansive, stadium-ready hooks. The act surfaced in 2015, issued an EP the next year, and reached full-length status in 2020 via the Red Bull Records album Highlights.
The lineup came together that same year around Josh Carruthers on vocals and keyboards, Freddie Edwards on guitar, and Josh Hussey on drums, with the members naming SOHN, London Grammar, and Chet Faker among their touchstones. Shortly after launch, Flawes put out the single "Don't Wait for Me," which led directly to their first EP, UNSPKN. In 2017 the trio signed with Red Bull and followed with the second EP, CTRL. During summer of that year they unveiled the singles "Forever" and "Blank Dice" ahead of their third EP, Unspkn, which appeared that autumn. Highlights marked their debut long-player in 2020; a three-song collection of bonus material from the album surfaced later, joined by the six-track EP Reverie.
