Biography
After relocating from Auckland to Los Angeles in 2015, New Zealand singer/songwriter Gladius James, born James Wong, launched his career by producing material for other acts. Early songwriting contributions from that period encompassed Justin Bieber's "Company," Demi Lovato's "You Don't Do It for Me Anymore," and additional tracks for Olivia Holt, Sage the Gemini, Bebe Rexha, and Fifth Harmony. In 2017 he stepped forward as a solo artist, unveiling an R&B-influenced style on debut single "Too Bad," a track later placed on the 2018 Revelation EP released via Island Records. That project further contained the singles "We All Got Issues" and "Rich," the latter featuring an appearance by Wiz Kalifa.
