In 2014 vocalist Nathan James, formerly of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Uli Jon Roth, teamed with rhythm guitarist Wil Taylor, Swedish lead guitarist Andreas Eriksson, bassist Colin Parkinson and drummer Phil Beaver to launch Inglorious. The quintet took its cues from Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones, swiftly posting a favorably received YouTube clip of their cover of Deep Purple’s “Burn.” After signing with Frontiers in 2015, the group tracked its self-titled debut at a Buckinghamshire studio, releasing the album in early 2016. Inglorious then joined the Dead Daisies and the Winery Dogs for a European run and served as support for Steel Panther. Once the second album was finished in 2016, Taylor exited; original guitarist Drew Lowe returned to fill the spot. Produced by Kevin Shirley, whose résumé includes Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and Rush, Inglorious II appeared in 2017. Following further U.K. and European dates plus additional Steel Panther support slots, the band returned to the studio in 2018 with Shirley again at the console to cut its third album, Ride to Nowhere. Issued at the start of 2019, the record steered the group’s hard-rock sound into darker terrain. We Will Ride arrived in 2021 with a revised lineup that kept core members Nathan James and Phil Beaver while adding guitarists Danny Dela Cruz and Dan Stevens plus bassist Vinnie Colla. Only months afterward came the band’s fifth album, Heroine, a set of covers saluting women in music that featured material originally recorded by Miley Cyrus, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and Heart.
