Julio Chaidez emerged as a newcomer to the sinaloense music scene, establishing himself as a regional Mexican singer whose 2006 underground hit "A Cada Instante" opened the door to a contract with a major label. Born in 1983 in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, he joined the Universal Latino imprint Machete Music once that track gained traction, with its original recording appearing on the 2006 album 15 Éxitos: A Cada Instante. His first project for the label, En Cuerpo y Alma (2007), produced the single "Total Ya Se Fue," yet it did not replicate the earlier track’s impact. The next release, Usted Dira (2008), proved far more successful, yielding the major hit "El Amor en Carro," which marked his initial entry into the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart. Machete Music promptly followed with the live set En Vivo Desde Su Cuna Sinaloense (2008) to capitalize on that momentum. The same year the label also issued the compilations 14 Éxitos: A Cada Instante and Frente a Frente: Las 2 Estrellas de la Sierra, a budget-line pairing that combined Chaidez material with selected hits by El as de la Sierra.
