Biography
Kingdom Collapse, the metalcore group rooted in San Antonio, weave pronounced melodic qualities into their songs, steering the overall style nearer to hard rock. Although the outfit has operated since the middle of the 2010s, their reach broadened markedly in the decade’s later years, driven especially by the 2018 War Inside EP and the singles that followed.
The Texas four-piece came together in 2013 with singer/guitarist Jonathan Norris, guitarist Robert Flores, bassist Blake Suarez, and drummer David Sanchez at its core. Their debut EP, Common Ground, appeared in 2014 and helped cement the band’s standing as a cohesive live act through early support dates alongside We Came as Romans and As I Lay Dying. Characterized by dense riffs, melodic choruses, and forceful breakdowns, Kingdom Collapse kept sharpening their approach until a run of singles culminated in the 2018 arrival of War Inside, their second EP. Numbers such as “Suffer” and “Payback” gained momentum on streaming platforms throughout 2019, building anticipation for the commanding 2020 single “Uprise.”
