Born in Sacramento, California, keyboardist Kingfisher first sat down at the piano at the age of eleven. He advanced his skills through formal lessons, live work with multiple rock bands plus a female impersonator, and eventual studio sessions crafting advertising jingles, film scores, and demos. In the early 1990s he self-released Floating Upstream, an album that found buyers chiefly in northern California and at his concerts. After composing scores for local theater companies, he delivered his national debut, Vesica Piscis, in 1999.
