A singer and songwriter celebrated for her commanding vocals, assured songwriting, and fluid melodic sense, Malia Civetz achieved early online traction in 2018 through the track “Champagne Clouds.” Additional widespread streaming followed when she released her first Warner project, the single “Broke Boy,” which appeared on that year’s The Flip EP; her next collection, the six-song Heels in Hand, came out in 2021.

Portions of Civetz’s upbringing took place in Hawaii and Las Vegas, after which she relocated to Los Angeles to enroll in the Popular Music program at USC’s Thornton School of Music, completing her undergraduate studies in 2016. The independently issued “Champagne Clouds” became her initial pop release and quickly gained momentum following endorsements from Ryan Seacrest and Taylor Swift. She followed it with “Little Victories” and secured an opening slot on JoJo’s tour. A deal with Warner Records and collaborative writing sessions alongside Ross Golan (Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande) and J Kash (John Legend, Kylie Minogue) came next.

Early 2020 marked her official Warner introduction via “Broke Boy,” after which she issued The Flip EP and contributed to the soundtrack for the teen comedy-drama Unpregnant alongside Greta Van Fleet, Maggie Rogers, and additional artists. Later that same year Warner put out her second EP, Heels in Hand.
