MDO

Emulating the path blazed by Menudo, MDO entered the Latin pop arena toward the close of the 1990s, showcasing a magnetic approach that fused vocals with choreography. The ensemble launched as a quartet whose founding members were Anthony Galindo, Alexis Grullón, Didier Hernández, and Abel Talamántez. Once they had taken Puerto Rico by storm, these striking youths set out across Central America and steadily built a widening audience. During 2000 Anthony Galindo departed the lineup while Troy Tuminelli and Pablo Portillo came aboard. October saw Sony Music issue the group’s album Subir Al Cielo, which earned favorable notices and quickly propelled the track “Te Quise Olvidar” to the summit of Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks.
