Born Michael Egred Mejia in Cali, Colombia, Latin pop singer Mike Bahía spent his early years on guitar and piano yet postponed a full-time music career until after he had completed his academic obligations. While enrolled in college for business management and marketing, he pursued music separately through the project Capzula. He joined the Colombian edition of The Voice in 2013. His breakthrough arrived the following year with the debut single “Buscandote,” which found an audience throughout South America. “Estar Contigo” and “Tarde” came next, preceding a series of 2015 collaborations such as “Le Hace Falta un Beso” with Alejandro Gonzalez, “Tu Tienes Razon” with Gusi, and “Magdalena” with Alkilados. In 2017 he issued the EP Yo Soy and entered a recording agreement with Warner Music; his first single for the label, “Déjame,” followed later that same year. Further releases in 2018 included the streaming successes “Serenata” and “Esta Noche.” Greater traction arrived in 2019 with “La Lá,” recorded alongside Colombian producer Ovy on the Drums, and later with the single “Locos Dementes,” which united him once more with Gusi plus Greeicy.
