Mir Fontane

Born Jamir Daaliya in 1994, rapper and vocalist Mir Fontane spent his formative years in Camden, New Jersey, where drawing occupied much of his time alongside repeated exposure to classic hip-hop blended with '90s R&B. Those tastes were shaped during regular school commutes spent with his grandfather tuned to R&B radio. From this foundation he cultivated a rhyme approach that fused his image-oriented thinking with heavy doses of narrative, wit, and vibrant beats, yielding straightforward tracks that still proved immediately accessible. Working independently, he issued multiple mixtapes, among them the 2014 release He So Crazy—a thematic project drawing on comedian Martin Lawrence’s '90s sitcom Martin—and 2016’s Who’s Watching the Kids. That same year he joined the roster of 300 Entertainment, an Atlantic Records subsidiary, and commenced recording his first full-length project, Camden, then scheduled to arrive in 2017.
