Biography
An alternative rock outfit known as Pastilla originated in Pomona, California, when Adrián Monroy, Victor Monroy, Heriberto González, and Eric Rubalcaba joined forces. The Monroy brothers first developed an interest in Latin rock during the mid-1980s by absorbing the leading acts of that period. They initially performed as Juana La Loca in the early 1990s. After signing with Aztlan in 1994, the group cut its debut album and worked to expand its reach across Los Angeles’ Latin rock circuit. Securing a deal with BMG allowed them to finish a second album, released in 1996 under the title Vox Electra.
