Volován, a Mexican indie rock quartet, first took shape once singer/guitarist Chalo Galván encountered keyboardist Jorge Nájera at a wedding celebration in their hometown of Monterrey. Drummer Gerardo Galván and bassist Alejandro Gulmar completed the group shortly afterward. Producers Joe Robinson, Andy Chase, and Plastilina Mosh’s Alejandro Rosso shaped the band’s self-titled debut, an album steeped in late-'70s American punk and pop influences that yielded the hit singles “Ella Es Azul” and “Flor Primaveral.” Monitor appeared in 2007.
