Phil Good, an indie electronic musician recognized for his minimalist synth rhythms and emotive singing, developed a digital audience in the latter half of the 2010s via releases including the 2017 track "Growing Up" and the 2018 song "Be Somebody." Elektra Records noticed his tuneful compositions, boosting his reach through energetic numbers such as 2020's "Everything's Good" and 2022's "Destination OK."

A producer and composer who taught himself the craft, Good shifted from his birthplace of Portland, Oregon, to Los Angeles in 2016 and issued his initial single, "Sleeping In," that year. Three additional singles arrived in 2017, one being the somber "Growing Up," which stands as his most-streamed recording. Visibility rose further in 2018 after the appearance of cuts like "Better," "Be Somebody," and "Put It All on Me." The artist joined Elektra Records in 2019, prompting the label to release well-received singles including "Do You Ever?" and "Put It All on Me." Recognition climbed the following year with the RAC collaboration "Stuck on You" and his own cheerful, positive solo cut "Everything's Good." After delivering the intimate, acoustic-focused Home Sweet Home EP in 2021, he returned to electronic textures on the lively 2022 single "Destination OK."
