Biography
Emerging from the remnants of prior groups Solace in the Shadows, Evil Divine, and XXX Maniac, Pennsylvania neo-thrashers Rumpelstiltskin Grinder chose to fuse thrash metal with comedy lyrics for their Relapse Records debut album Buried in the Front Yard, issued in 2005. Such a combination normally clashes with heavy metal expectations, as the original and ill-fated Scatterbrain case study demonstrates, yet Rumpelstiltskin Grinder singer Jason Sidote, guitarists Matt Moore and Ryan Moll, bassist Shawn Riley, and drummer Pat Battaglia appear unfazed by those prevailing norms.
