Single File

Forming the core of Single File are bassist and guitarist Joe Ginsberg, vocalist, guitarist, and bassist Sloan Anderson, along with drummer Chris Depew. Having started their collaborative songwriting during high school years, the musicians concentrated on jazz performances prior to establishing their punk-pop ensemble. Based in Denver, the trio handled their own recording and distribution for three EPs, interspersed with several national tours, prior to laying down tracks for their inaugural full-length effort in the beginning of 2006 alongside producer Ed Rose, known for his work with Motion City Soundtrack and the Get Up Kids. A summer 2006 placement on the Vans Warped Tour was obtained by Single File, anticipating the LP's subsequent launch. Although the band's online presence listed the album under the working title Benson Shady Grove with an expected late 2006 rollout, delays extended beyond twelve months amid ongoing touring activities. The group then delivered their fourth EP, No More Sadface, during July 2007. Following a pair of stateside tours—one alongside the Fray and another with Saves the Day—Single File put out their debut full-length release, Common Struggles, via Reprise during April 2009.
