Biography
Originally assembled by Lamont Hiebert, Tommy Lee, and Austin Morrison, the rock band Ten Shekel Shirt took its distinctive moniker from a sermon delivered by Paris Reidhead. That address, called Ten Shekels and a Shirt, urged listeners to avoid approaching God merely for personal gain. After inking a deal with Vertical Music, the group unveiled its first full-length effort, Much, in 2001. Two years later, Brent Milligan produced the follow-up Risk, which appeared on M2.0 Records. The trio subsequently moved to Rounder Records, where Jubilee surfaced in 2008. Reduced at that point to Hiebert alone, the project later resurfaced via Art and Action Media, the imprint Hiebert himself established.
