Biography
Originating from Brighton in 2014, the Gospel Youth surfaced as an English emo-pop group assembled from ex-members of Fleeing from Finales and the Auteur. Their first outing arrived late that year via the three-song EP Kids, after which singer Samuel Little, guitarist Julian Bowen, bassist Kev Deverick, and drummer Kurtis Maiden launched into touring before resurfacing in 2015 with the pair of EPs Empires and The True Lost Boys. Adopting a melodic yet intense alt-pop sound, the band launched an ambitious campaign of issuing one new single each month across 2016. The resulting visibility earned them a contract with Rise Records, which led to the arrival of their debut full-length, Always Lose, in July 2017.
