Biography
Emerging from the remnants of Pittsburgh's Transition, bassist Harrison Wargo chose to exit that ensemble and launch new material alongside vocalist Bobby Garver. The pair initially composed piano-driven material recalling Jack's Mannequin before the lineup expanded into a quintet through the arrivals of bassist Andrew McDonald, drummer Nick Baxter, and Matt Colussy, formerly Transition's guitarist. Sharing lead vocals, Wargo and Garver kept the Morning Light on tour throughout 2007 for nearly 150 concerts, securing a contract with Fearless Records just nine months after the band's debut performance. March 2008 brought the release of the Sounds of Love EP, which presented the group's fusion of emo and alternative pop/rock.
