Biography
The Year Of unites post-rock experimentalists Bernhard Fleischmann on drums, electronics, and piano, Christof Kurzmann on vocals and woodwinds, Paul Kling (aka Burkhard Stangl) on vibraphone and guitar, Martin Siewert on guitar, and Werner Dafeldecker on bass. Operating out of Vienna, Austria, the project stems from Durian Records founder and electronic guru Fleischmann, who shapes the group’s arrangements alongside Kurzmann, the ensemble’s chief singer/songwriter. Their debut album for Morr, Slow Days, surfaced in spring 2006.
