Biography
Thunder Jackson serves as the stage alias for mercurial Oklahoma singer-songwriter Kyle Bradley, who surfaced in 2017 with a style blending radio-ready widescreen rock and icy electro-pop. A string of stylish, buzzworthy singles preceded the arrival of his self-titled full-length debut in 2020.
Bradley grew up in the small town of Piedmont, where music filled his early life largely because his father worked part-time as an Elvis impersonator. Attracted to the spectacle of the “King of Rock and Roll” along with the dark pop approach of artists such as Jeff Buckley and Peter Gabriel, he departed home as a late teenager to forge an independent musical route that eventually took him to Los Angeles with plans to busk his way into the industry. There, a chance shared cab ride introduced him to Welsh producer and songwriter Pete Lawrie Winfield, who found himself at his own creative turning point. Impressed by Bradley’s voice, Winfield extended an invitation to his basement studio; the two soon became roommates and creative collaborators. Under the Thunder Jackson moniker, the first single, “Guilty Party,” appeared in 2017. Four additional tracks arrived in early 2020, each highlighting Bradley’s velvety falsetto and Winfield’s pop craftsmanship; together with “Guilty Party,” they formed the track list of the self-titled album issued later that year.
