WK7

René Pawlowitz, the German techno producer widely recognized as Shed, works under the WK7 alias. Material issued as WK7 and through the connected Head High alias reaches back to the rave period of early-'90s techno and house, combining warm, uplifting synth pads with high-energy repetitive beats and occasional breakbeats. The WK7 project first appeared in 2010 on the 12" single "The Avalanche," which was followed by a split single with Head High in 2012 and then "Washer" in 2015. Tracks from both aliases were assembled for the continuous-mix CD Home.House.Hardcore., issued in 2015 by Power House, the same label that had put out every prior single.
