Biography
Singer/songwriter Aaron Benward formed the younger half of the father-and-son Christian duo Aaron & Jeoffrey. That partnership issued its self-titled debut album in 1995 and enjoyed steady success with subsequent releases.
Toward the close of the decade Benward sought a solo path and a contemporary musical direction. Recording of his first solo project was already well underway when a truck accident threatened to end both his career and the lives of his wife and children. After recovering, he reentered the studio with renewed clarity about faith, existence, and the spiritual purpose he hoped his songs would serve.
Early in 2000 the nearly derailed album Imagine reached stores on Sparrow Records. Benward wrote every track on the eleven-song set aside from “God’s Here.” The collection presents acoustic Christian pop numbers such as “Renaissance Love,” “He Believes in You,” “Captured,” and “Make Your Mark.”
