Alex Warren built a broad following across digital platforms before stepping into music as a confessional pop songwriter and performer. He first attracted notice through skateboarding clips on YouTube, later shifting focus to comedy sketches and personal vlogs. By 2021 the California native had begun issuing introspective, melody-driven tracks that blended fragile vocals with delicate electronic textures, an approach that recalled Jack Garratt while allowing Warren to examine the early loss of both parents. In the opening months of 2024 he reached international charts with the ballad “Before You Leave Me,” then issued the buoyant “Save You a Seat,” the anthemic “Carry You Home,” and his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, “Burning Down.” All four tracks appeared on his debut full-length, You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1), which climbed to number 62 on the Billboard 200, entered the U.K. Top 50, and peaked inside the Top Ten in both Norway and the Netherlands.

Born September 18, 2000, in Carlsbad, California, Warren grew up listening to his father’s favorite records by Linkin Park, Train, and Coldplay. When Warren was still a child his father received a terminal cancer diagnosis and died when the boy turned nine, after which Warren was raised by his mother, who struggled with alcoholism. At seventeen she forced him out of the house, leaving him briefly homeless; she passed away within the next three years.

Warren began uploading skate footage to YouTube at fifteen. Momentum accelerated in 2019 when he accumulated millions of TikTok followers, aided by his involvement in the Hype House collective alongside fellow creators including his girlfriend Kouvr Annon; the group later became the subject of a Netflix reality series. Drawing from Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes, Warren released his debut single, “One More I Love You,” in 2021 as a tribute to his late father. He followed with the similarly vulnerable “Screaming Under Water” and “Remember Me Happy.” Atlantic Records signed him in August 2022; his first single for the label, “Headlights,” appeared that year, trailed by “Chasing Shadows.” Throughout 2023 he issued additional tracks such as “Change Your Mind” and “Yard Sale,” which steadily grew his streaming audience. In the first half of 2024 “Before You Leave Me” and “Save You a Seat” became his initial U.K. Top 100 hits and registered across multiple European charts. “Carry You Home” marked his Billboard Global 200 debut and reached the U.K. Top 40, while “Burning Down,” released in mid-September, introduced him to the U.S. Hot 100. One week later Atlantic issued You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1). During this period Warren and Annon married.
