Biography
Ayiesha Woods, a Christian recording artist, entered the world on July 2, 1979, in Long Island, NY, although her formative years unfolded across several locations including Florida, Georgia, Texas, Hawaii, and Bermuda, factors that evidently infused her work with a Caribbean and dancehall sensibility. She issued the independent project What You Do to Me in 2004, and the track “Crazy” from that album reached the attention of former dc Talk member Toby McKeehan via a local radio broadcast during one of his visits to Jamaica. After returning to the U.S., McKeehan located Woods and ultimately placed her on his Gotee Records roster, which brought out Introducing Ayiesha Woods in 2006.
