Biography
Before completing high school, the melodic rapper Bernard Jabs—who drew inspiration from fellow Southern artist Lil Wayne—inked a contract with major-label Def Jam, served as an opener for Pusha T, and dropped the Coldhearted EP.
Born Stanley Flanders, Jr. in Tifton, Georgia, the future artist declared his ambition to rap at age five. During his early teenage years, this dedicated student of hip-hop assembled a home setup that let him capture tracks and share them on SoundCloud. The Def Jam agreement materialized in 2018. Within the same calendar year Jabs launched his commercial career via the single “Big Tymers,” whose title referenced Mannie Fresh and Birdman’s late-’90s/2000s duo, while also joining Pusha T’s tour as a support act. February of the next year brought the release of “Sticks,” followed a month later by his appearance on Def Jam’s Undisputed compilation. Seven days after that placement, he issued the eight-track EP Coldhearted, which featured his earlier singles. August then saw the arrival of the Ian Dorr collaboration “Come Again.”
