Branan Murphy

Born in Louisville, Georgia, Branan Murphy crafts Christian pop that blends EDM textures with rap cadences. During his high-school years he first began composing material and performing it within church settings, later moving as an adult to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2011. The self-produced mixtape SMPLFY attracted label attention, leading to his signing with Essential Records, an imprint of Sony/Provident, in early 2017. His first single, “All the Wrong Things,” appeared that April; the track, produced by Jordan Sapp—who had previously collaborated with the similarly styled CCM/dance-pop artist Blanca—featured The Voice finalist Koryn Hawthorne. “Enough” appeared that September. Both singles entered the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart and were featured on his debut EP, Branan Murphy. He continued issuing singles through 2019, among them “Take It Back,” “Skin,” and “Perfectly.”
