Biography
Joel Vaughn crafts contemporary Christian music that fuses pop, rock, synth pop, and EDM into a distinctive style. His first full-length project, Bigger Than Me, appeared in 2008, setting the stage for later success with singles including “I Look to You,” “Wide Awake,” “Pray It Up,” and “Already Done,” the last of which was included on his 2021 album Louder Than Lies.
As worship leader at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Vaughn spent his early years in Texas shaping an acoustic-centered worship approach. After Bigger Than Me he gradually added electronic textures and signed with DREAM Records in 2015. The EPs Kinetic and Surrender followed in 2016 and 2017, respectively, with Control arriving in 2018. By then Vaughn had become a consistent CCM chart presence, accumulating millions of streams and sharing bills with Hillsong Young & Free, the Afters, Remedy Drive, Dan Bremnes, and Brandon Heath. In 2021 he issued the hopeful, empowering full-length Louder Than Lies, which contained the singles “Already Done,” “Make the Most of It,” and the forceful title track.
