Biography
In 2007, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, saw the launch of hardcore punk band Burning Love, initially conceived as a side project uniting Cursed frontman and longstanding Canadian punk mainstay Chris Colohan with Our Father members David O'Connor, Pat Marshall, Andrus Meret, and Easton Lannaman. Although the group composed material and made an attempt at capturing a demo during that same year, the project remained part-time until 2008, when Cursed dissolved suddenly during a European tour and allowed Burning Love to shift into a primary focus. A demo appeared that year, followed by the full-length debut Songs for Burning Lovers in 2010. After completing a European tour to close out 2010, the band parted ways with bassist O'Connor early in 2011 and brought in Alex Goodall as his replacement. Later in 2011, Burning Love traveled to Salem, Massachusetts, to record its second album with producer and Converge member Kurt Ballou. The resulting sophomore effort, Rotten Thing to Say, surfaced in 2012 via metal label Southern Lord.
