Biography

Born Cristopher Andrés Álvarez García in 2001 in La Serena, Chile, Cris MJ established himself as an urbano singer and songwriter. Around 2019 he began uploading original tracks to social platforms, steadily gaining traction in Chile’s local scene through early team-ups with Marcianeke and Pailita. His decisive breakthrough came in 2022 with the release of “Una Noche en Medellín,” a chart-topping success throughout Chile and several neighboring Latin American markets that quickly opened doors to high-profile collaborations with Tiago PZK, Luar La L, Blessd, and Karol G. In just over four years he maintained an intense release schedule, appearing on or issuing close to 100 singles, a number of which later appeared on his debut album Welcome to My World (2022) and the follow-up Partyson (2023). In 2024 the track “Gata Only,” featuring FloyyMenor, carried him into the global Top Ten on streaming rankings.
