American producer Sage Devault, who performs under his surname, blends electronic dance elements drawn from Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and A$AP Rocky. His productions frequently display an expansive, orchestrated quality alongside a bright yet yearning character. Beginning in 2016, he issued original material, collaborations, and remixes that rapidly accumulated millions of streams, among them the track “Nothing New,” his reworking of DJ Snake’s “A Different Way,” and his version of Sabrina Claudio’s “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Khaled. The full-length debut Stay appeared on Geffen in 2018, followed by multiple EPs issued through Insomniac and Ultra Records as well as the singles “Tell Me” with BabyJake in 2020 and “HEAVEN’S GATE” featuring Izzy Camina in 2022. In 2024 he released the collaborative SENSATION EP.

Born in Orange County, California, DeVault first assembled tracks recreationally and later began performing and promoting his music during his late teens. Early streaming attention arrived with the 2016 cuts “Right with You” and “Nothing New,” the latter featuring drummer Joe Zizzo of the Sleeping and Sky Ferreira. Additional early partners included StéLouse, Team Ezy, and Ayelle, who appeared on “Don’t You Want To,” issued by Deadbeats in 2017. That same year he supplied remixes for Rihanna, Lorde, and Billie Eilish, toured with Zeds Dead, and concluded the year with his DJ Snake rework of “A Different Way,” then his most prominent release. Early 2018 brought “Leave Me Now” on Deadbeats, after which he issued his Geffen debut single “Stay,” featuring Njomza and Bipolar Sunshine, followed later that year by the eight-track album Stay. The JADE EP surfaced on Geffen in April 2019, and he also remixed Alessia Cara’s “Out of Love.”

After departing Geffen, DeVault placed the SAPPHIRE EP with Insomniac Records in October 2019 and the RUBY EP on the same label in March 2020. Later that year “Tell Me,” a collaboration with BabyJake, generated further remixes by Dillon Nathaniel and Kryptogram among others. He next moved to Ultra Records, LLC for the Empty Room EP in late 2021. Early 2022 saw the arrival of DIAMOND TAPE on New Wave Records and Ultra Records, led by the single “HEAVEN’S GATE” featuring Izzy Camina. In the intervals between EPs he produced remixes for Fitz and the Tantrums’ “Sway,” Manila Killa’s “Take Me Higher,” and Daya’s “Juliene,” while issuing his own pieces “Want You Tonight,” “Can’t Go Wrong” (both featuring Linus), and “Get to You” (with Griff Clawson). The collaboration-heavy SENSATION EP reached listeners in September 2024 alongside a U.S. tour.
