D'Nash, long viewed in Spain as the local counterpart to the Backstreet Boys, reached an international audience after performing at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. Prior to that exposure, however, dance-music listeners across the country had already embraced the quartet. Mikel, Basty, Javi, and Ony came together in 2005, initially calling themselves Nash. Producers Carlos Quintero and Mar de Pablos helped them secure a five-album contract with Jamm Records soon afterward. Drawing from the styles of Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and Luis Fonsi, the group shaped its own sound. Their first single, “Capaz de Todo,” appeared in January 2006, moved more than 20,000 copies, and reached number 23 on the Spanish pop chart. Later the same year the album of the same name arrived, yet it failed to attract broad attention. Seeking wider recognition, the band—now operating as D'Nash—entered the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest to represent Spain. With the entry “I Love You Mi Vida,” they reached the final round and ultimately placed twentieth, though numerous radio outlets and fan sites still ranked them among the competition’s most popular acts. Buoyed by that reception, D'Nash began work on their second album, Todo Va a Cambiar. Its lead single, “Amanda,” steadily rose through the Spanish pop rankings and entered the national Top 40.
