Hailing from Italy, Eros Ramazotti launched his professional journey in 1982 after catching attention at the Castrocaro talent contest. Roberto Gallanti, then serving as managing director of the independent Italian label DDD Records, moved quickly to secure his signature. The following year Ramazotti validated that early confidence by claiming victory in the newcomer category at the San Remo Song Festival with the ballad “Adesso Tú.” His first album, In Ogni Senso, appeared soon afterward, yet widespread European recognition arrived only with the massive 1993 release Tutte Storie, which moved more than 4.5 million units. Seeking to expand that domestic appeal abroad, he issued Dove Cé Musica in 1996. The collection blended pristine melodic rock with balladeering and marked a decisive step toward artistic autonomy, as Ramazotti handled every aspect of songwriting and production himself. Speaking to Billboard magazine he remarked, “This is very much my own creation, I feel as if it is my son. Every song on the album has been meticulously constructed step by step, each having its theme and vitality.” A prime example was the opening single “Piu Bella Cosa” (Most Beautiful Thing), a romantic mid-tempo ballad supported by gospel backing vocals. Nigel Dick, renowned for his earlier videos with Guns N’Roses, directed its visual counterpart. Remaining selections traversed an eclectic range that included salsa, merengue, country, and pop. While he preserved his core audience in Italy, the project also resonated strongly with the American Hispanic community, aided by a simultaneous Spanish-language edition. Extensive promotional appearances across Europe and South America further supported the campaign.
