Evan Blum, a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, crafts upbeat pop marked by relaxed yet sincere intensity. His profile rose sharply when a track from the 2017 album A.D.D. that referenced Camila Cabello was shared by the artist herself on her personal account, exposing his work to a broader listenership.

Growing up in Carmel Valley, California, Blum started learning guitar during sixth grade but set the instrument aside upon entering high school as a freshman. He resumed playing only after enrolling at UC Santa Barbara, where he completed a degree in communications. During those college years he discovered a passion for songwriting and chose to commit to a professional path in music. Upon finishing his studies in 2013, he relocated to Los Angeles and soon began writing material for other performers while still developing his own recordings and posting them online. In 2015 the video for his bullying-themed song “Everyone’s Got a Story” spread widely as fans responded by recounting their own experiences. That year he also issued his first EP, the self-produced Cloudy Head, which featured the track. The full-length A.D.D. followed in 2017 and contained the song “Camila Cabello,” whose video drew the attention of the “Havana” performer and prompted her to repost it from her personal Twitter account. Blum’s second album, Comin’ Up Short, appeared the same year.
