Biography
Hailing from Florida, Fit for Rivals delivers a bold fusion of hard rock, emo, and punk as a swaggering outfit led by vocalist Renee Phoenix. Between 2006 and 2008 she fronted the punk band the Explicits as lead singer. Her search in 2008 for a guitarist to round out that group introduced her to Thomas Amason on guitar. Sensing a shared move toward fresh creative territory, Phoenix chose to launch Fit for Rivals as an entirely separate band. The independent debut Steady Damage surfaced in 2009. Their second full-length album, Freak Machine, arrived in 2015 via Big 3 Records.
