Biography
Flynn Sant channels aspirations and setbacks via the tender, romance-centered indie pop and rock he crafts as songwriter and producer under the flowerkid name. Still only in his mid-teens, he issued the debut single “Late Night Therapy” during 2018. Triple J support helped both that track and its successor, “boy with the winfields and the wild heart,” reach millions of streams before the arrival of his introspective first EP, everyone has a breaking point, in 2021. Production technique continued to advance on the subdued, atmospheric LET IT BE ENOUGH, which appeared in 2023.
Sydney, Australia native Flynn Sant was sixteen when he independently released “Late Night Therapy” in March 2018. The confessional piano-and-keys number was followed a month later by the acoustic-guitar outing “boy with the winfields and the wild heart.” Both earned solid streaming totals and attracted Triple J, which began rotating his material in 2019. A worldwide management pact that encompassed Billie Eilish and FINNEAS’ North American representation arrived in 2020, along with recording agreements from Warner Music Australia, Atlantic in the U.S., and Parlophone in the U.K.
His first major-label project, November 2021’s everyone has a breaking point, retained the intimate, self-examining perspective of prior work while Sant broadened the arrangements to include indie-rock excursions. One single, the KUČKA collaboration “It’s happening again,” landed on several prominent playlists. The dreamier LET IT BE ENOUGH arrived in November 2023 and contained songs titled “SLEEP,” “MELOTONE,” and “HEAVY LISTENING.”
