Originating from Britain, Fort Hope crafts energetic rock shaped by emo and post-hardcore elements. The band came together in 2013, consisting of ex-My Passion musicians Jon Gaskin handling guitar, piano, and vocals, along with Simon Rowlands on bass and Jamie Nicholls on drums. During 2013, they issued a pair of EPs titled The Future's in Our Hearts and Choices. Fort Hope followed up the next year by putting out their inaugural album-length effort, Courage. They came back in 2015 with a self-titled EP containing seven tracks and highlighting the singles "Plans" and "Sick." The group sustained their steady stream of EP output by issuing the Manne of Lawe EP at the start of 2016 and the A R M U R E EP toward the end of that December. These two works earned acclaim due to their diverse song structures that blend catchy pop tunes with their characteristic alternative style, drawing parallels to similar alt-pop/rock groups including Don Broco, Young Guns, and Deaf Havana. In the summer of 2017 came their initial major-label full-length project, Flood Flowers, Vol. 1.
