Georgie Porgie, also known as George Andros, founded the Chicago labels Music Plant and Vinyl Soul while establishing himself as a local singer, songwriter, and independent remixer and producer of dance tracks. He entered the recording arena with the single "Baby Come Back to Me." After working as a DJ in the area, he began ascending the charts via "Let the Music Pump You Up," which paved the way for the subsequent hit singles "Everybody Must Party," "I'm in Love," and "Don't Want You." The 1999 release "Love Story" and the 2000 track "Life Goes On," co-produced by Terry Hunter, marked his entry into the international dance arena once both reached the top five of Billboard's Hot Dance Music chart. Penned in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York and Washington, the buoyant club and dance number "Love Is Gonna Save the Day" became one of his most resonant and engaging works.
