American singer-songwriter Harry Hudson fuses inviting, melody-driven pop vocals with bold, rhythmic R&B grooves. Closely tied to Jaden Smith’s MSFTS collective and lifestyle brand, he has worked with Smith and with Astrid S, notably on the 2020 project Hey, I’m Here for You.

Born in New Jersey in 1993, Hudson relocated with his family to Los Angeles at the age of four. Throughout his teenage years he absorbed a wide range of pop influences, among them Al Green, Michael Jackson, and Bruce Springsteen, before turning his attention to songwriting. His debut single, “World Is Gone,” appeared online in 2013. That June he received a Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis and paused his career to begin treatment; six months of chemotherapy ended with a clean bill of health in January 2014. In 2015 he revisited his creative sources and began composing his first full-length effort, issuing the independent EPs Treatment (A-Side) and Gemineyes. The former contained material written during chemotherapy whose lyrics centered on that period, while the latter was co-authored with his longtime friend and collaborator gnash. Hudson later moved to New York, where an interest in film led him to direct the short Can Cowboys Cry, which featured Jaden Smith; its 2017 soundtrack showcased Hudson tracks such as “Cry for Love” and “Yellow Lights.” In March 2018 he delivered his debut album, Yesterday’s Tomorrow Night, on the MSFTS/Roc Nation imprint. Later that year he teamed again with Jaden Smith for “Just Slide,” followed by the 2019 release “Pendulum.” Hey, I’m Here for You arrived the next year and featured the Astrid S duet “Closing Doors.”
