Hodera

Matthew Smith fronts the New Jersey band Hodera, whose output fuses dynamic, introspective indie rock with intermittent Americana touches. Previously called Epilogues, the group revised its creative strategy in 2014 by issuing the debut EP Reset to Default. Their first full-length album, United by Birdcalls, followed a year later and matched Smith’s intimate lyrics to soaring, often cathartic arrangements. Persistent touring over the next several years widened Hodera’s audience throughout the U.S. and Europe, culminating in a deal with Take This to Heart Records that yielded the 2017 release First Things First.
