Jencarlos

Hailing from Miami, Latin pop vocalist Jencarlos achieved a Top Five album debut in 2009 after first gaining notice as a telenovela performer for Telemundo. Jencarlos Canela entered the world on April 21, 1988, in Miami, Florida, completed his studies at the New World School of the Arts in 2006, and began securing acting jobs. Commercials and stage musicals provided early credits, yet his strongest recognition arrived through Telemundo productions, including Pecados Ajenos in 2007, Doña Bárbara in 2008, and Más Sabe el Diablo in 2009, the last of which cast him in a starring role. At the height of Más Sabe el Diablo’s popularity, he issued his first full-length solo album, Búscame, in 2009. The project contained the series theme “Amor Quédate,” issued as the lead single, and featured production and songwriting almost exclusively by Rudy Pérez. Búscame became a major success, climbing to number two on the Billboard Latin Albums chart. Canela next released the single “Mi Corazón Insiste,” then followed with the album Un Nuevo Día in 2011.
