Jimi Cravity, born Maurice Eugene Willis, makes his home in Atlanta, Georgia, where he works as a Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader. His broad musical approach merges CCM, rock, R&B, pop, and hip-hop. Early in his career he concentrated on secular material and, while still in his early twenties, obtained a publishing contract with Bu Vision/Universal Music Publishing Group; the songs he wrote and demoed during that period reached artists such as Usher and Ludacris. By 2012 he had started releasing his own recordings, now centered on an encouraging Christian outlook. After the release of his debut EP, Maverick, he suffered the loss of his two-year-old son to cancer and grew active at Atlanta’s Passion City Church, eventually taking on worship-leading duties there. His appearances at the church’s annual Passion Conferences resulted in one of his songs being featured on the congregation’s popular 2016 studio album, Salvation’s Tide Is Rising. He later joined the roster of Capitol Christian Group’s sixstepsrecords and, the following year, issued his next EP, Heaven, which climbed to number 15 on Billboard’s Christian chart.
