Biography
Hailing from County Durham, England, singer-songwriter Karen Harding has cited Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Jazmine Sullivan among the artists who shaped her style, along with several others she has referenced. She entered series 10 of The X Factor, advancing from the audition stage to boot camp before an abrupt "musical chairs"-style elimination provoked widespread viewer criticism. Capitol-affiliated Method, the label home to Sam Smith, quickly signed her, pairing her with producer MNEK for the emotive house track "Say Something," which became her debut single. The song appeared in November 2014 as the lead single from her first album.
