Biography
Kelsy Karter crafts pop and soul that blends vintage influences with a modern edge. She was born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia, where she first took up the piano near the age of six. Dance training and appearances in theater productions also marked her formative years. Exposure to her parents’ record collection, particularly classic girl group and Motown recordings, ultimately steered her toward singing pop. Following high school she moved to Los Angeles to launch her career, issuing her debut single “The Revolution” in 2012 and the follow-up “Ghost Town” in 2013. The EP Kiss the Boys arrived in 2015, with additional singles including “Out of Drugs” that same year, “Too Many Hearts to Break” in 2018, and “Liquor Store on Mars” in 2019.
