Biography
Singer/songwriter Lauren Watkins fuses raw, grounded textures with melodic country refrains that carry sharp, everyday resonance. The Nashville native inked a deal with Big Loud Records in 2023 and promptly issued two EPs that paved the way for her first studio album, The Heartbroken Record, which arrived in 2024.
Raised in Music City, she performed and sang in neighborhood honky-tonks while still in her teens, yet songwriting only became a priority once she enrolled at the University of Mississippi. After graduation she came back to Nashville carrying material shaped by influences such as Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and Miranda Lambert, securing both a recording contract with Big Loud and a publishing arrangement through Songs & Daughters. Rendered in her smooth, husky delivery, tracks including “Anybody But You” and “Shirley Temple” merged lighthearted tavern scenes with emotional ache and country twang; both cuts appeared on her introductory 2023 EP, Introducing: Lauren Watkins. Before the year ended she issued a follow-up collection titled Introducing: The Heartbreak.
