Lily Rose channels an earnest and deeply emotive voice through her genre-bending country approach, one that merges contemporary country with pop and groove-oriented R&B. The Atlanta native first captured widespread attention in 2020 after “Villain” spread rapidly across social platforms, which directly led to her 2021 EP Stronger Than I Am. Additional singles appeared throughout 2022, among them the notable “Truth Is,” before she issued the follow-up EP Runnin’ Outta Time.

Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Rose spent her early years immersed in sports while absorbing a blend of pop, rap, and country. Her father’s work in broadcasting further sparked her musical curiosity. At eight she attended a Bruce Springsteen concert, an experience she has repeatedly described as pivotal in her decision to pursue music. Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry also figured prominently among her early influences. She later taught herself guitar and drums while beginning to compose original material. After finishing high school she relocated to Athens to study finance at the University of North Georgia, all the while continuing to perform and issue several independently produced EPs. Once she graduated, Rose moved to Nashville, where her identity as an openly gay singer and her vibrantly cross-pollinated country style made her distinctive, even as she navigated challenges in securing a foothold. In 2020 she shared “Villain” online; the song went viral and secured her a recording contract with Big Loud/Republic Records. The label re-released the track, which climbed to number six on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart and number 36 on the Hot Country Songs chart. October 2021 brought the arrival of her official debut EP, Stronger Than I Am.

Throughout the latter half of 2022 Rose maintained a consistent output of new songs, among them “I’d Be You,” “Whatcha Know About That,” and “Truth Is.” In early 2024 she offered two further tracks, “True North” and “Parking Lot,” ahead of the EP Runnin’ Outta Time.
