Emerging from the shadowy fringes of online rap, Tallahassee native Lil Boom—born Jaylon Lilly in 1996—specializes in lewd, comedic verses designed to provoke and amuse. The Florida rapper and beatmaker spent several years antagonizing audiences through scattered mixtapes and brief projects before unveiling his first proper studio albums, Hentai Haven and Soul Eater, both in 2019.

Rooted in Tallahassee, he draws lyrical inspiration from anime, adult films, hoops, and broader pop-culture references, delivering self-distributed tracks that frequently push boundaries of taste and language. His recording career began in 2016 with a cluster of standalone cuts including “Fuck Steph Curry,” “Fuck Taylor Swift,” and “Fuck KD 2,” the latter an unsanctioned follow-up to Lil B’s Kevin Durant diss. He also unveiled meme-driven offerings such as “RIP Harambe” and “Caillou,” the latter saluting a children’s cartoon. Those early efforts were succeeded by the mixtapes Namek and State Road 438, after which Who Is Lil Boom arrived, featuring an expanded take and continuation of the viral Steph Curry track.

Further 2017 singles arrived in the form of “Milf Next Door” and “I Don’t Sell Crack,” while the adult-themed “Kimono” surfaced in early 2018. Additional one-offs preceded his first full-length projects: Hentai Haven dropped in 2019, followed later that year by Soul Eater. In 2020 he returned to short-form releases, issuing the Final Fantasy-inspired “Kill Sephiroth” and collaborating with MC Virgins on “Caught Simpin’.”
