Los Lagartos

In the early 1990s bassist Adrián Rubio joined forces with drummer Paco Finamori, singer and guitarist Luis Estrada, and guitarist Lalo Plaxx to launch the Latin rock band los Lagartos. After an initial stretch of rehearsals the quartet began working the local club circuit, and Chucho Roldán soon stepped in for Plaxx. A shared bill with Botellita de Jerez at the veteran act’s tenth-anniversary show earned los Lagartos a deal with BMG/Culebra, which issued their debut Confesiones a Manuela in Mexico and the U.S. in 1994. Roldán’s subsequent exit prompted the arrival of Klaus Warkentin and César Guerrero, and the refreshed lineup delivered the follow-up album Pelotas in 1996.
