Hailing from Culiacan in Sinaloa, Mexico, the norteño ensemble Los Morros del Norte consists of brothers Fermin, Javier, and Tomas Beltran together with cousin Samuel Ayon. The musicians launched their career in the early 1990s and completed their first professional recordings in 1993. Their initial single, La Vida Prestada, appeared on La Sierra Records and received nationwide broadcasts across the United States. The following year brought the follow-up Cien Mil Veces, composed by Julio Preciado.

Those early releases prompted an invitation from La Banda el Recodo in 1995 to accompany the band on a Mexican tour intended to build a comparable audience at home. The same year saw the issue of their debut full-length album, Vida Prestada, still under La Sierra. A steady succession of singles followed over the next several years, sustaining listener interest yet impeding stronger chart impact. By 2004 the group sought a new label and settled on Disa.

Their first project for the imprint, Los de la Botella, surfaced in 2005 and capitalized on Disa’s stature as a leading force in regional Mexican music. Mientras Viva, released in 2006, positioned Los Morros del Norte as a central act in the genre, while Cuatro Vidas arrived the same year. The musicians continue to record and tour, upholding the reputation they have earned.
